TRIZ grew from patents analysis. Many people who learned TRIZ got dozens of patents each. We believe that the highest rate of patents obtained in ex-USSR was stimulated by TRIZ studies by numerous engineers and students. Even pupils get patents after TRIZ training (the additional information is available in Russian) !
Two basic questions are often important for an inventor:
1. Is my device (process, machine, method of manufacture, composition of matter, etc.) patentable ?
2. Will the obtaining of a patent have some advantage for me ?
Very often TRIZ solution is patentable, moreover TRIZ leads to a possibility to get "umbrella" patent(s).
We cannot give the one answer on the second question, it depends.........., but TRIZ acquires a circumvention of blocking patent.
