My interest in mathematical theory of TRIZ originates from the provocative question of one of my students in Novgorod. As you know, the classical TRIZ is mostly verbal discipline and lack of math makes it not so strong.

Due to my sabbatical year in Spain (1993) I had an opportunity to start the work at this subject. Long time people are trying to describe TRIZ in framework of Artificial Intelligence. Unfortunately these attempts are not successful. I use some mathematical methods from the fuzzy logic, theory of disordered systems (my major scientific field in physics) and some other fields of modern math.

This approach describes many aspects of classical engineering TRIZ and innovative concepts in general. But some TRIZ tools (like the small smart peoples) are out of score of this math.
